Description: Having been mesmerized by the Palm Springs Mid-Century Modernism event yearly, I recognized the importance and utility of the screen block. Used by architects to deflect the desert sun, the block expanded into numerous design options. This tapestry depicts the Pompeian block unit used on the tower of Our Lady of Guadalupe church. The viewer is looking out from courtyard at the scenery and the beating sun.
